Marija Vrshkova was born in Bitola. She graduated in piano performance from the Faculty of Music in Skopje with special recognition “Cum Laude” (class of prof. Todor Svetiev), where she completed her Master studies. She is recipient of numerous awards in Macedonia and abroad and participated in many masterclasses and seminars for piano and chamber music. Vrshkova has been on several occasions Macedonian representative in the World Youth Orchestra. Contemporary music performance is one of her affinities. Vrshkova has given over 50 premiere performances of solo and chamber works by Macedonian and foreign composers. She has also recorded several CD as chamber musician in collaboration with renowned Macedonian artists, and in 2010, she recorded her first solo CD with piano works by Macedonian composers. As a soloist and chamber musician she has performed in many countries in the world, and at the festivals “Ohrid Summer Festival”, “Days of Macedonian Music”, “Zlatna lira”, “Heraklea Evenings” and others. She was given the special recognition for artistic achievments by the international jury of “Ohrid Pearls” festival and the award “Virtuosi” for best solo performer in 2012.
