Aleksandar Kotevski (1980) was born in Bitola. His music talent became evident when in 1995 he received the Second prize at the National Competition, only after six months of studying the instrument cello. Kotevski received his Bachelor and Master degrees from the Faculty of Music in Skopje (classes of Dushka Taseska and Zivko Firfov). As a soloist, Kotevski performed with the Chamber orchestra of FMA at the festival “Autumn Musical Festivities”, with the Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra, Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra, Mostar Symphony Orchestra. He has been an active member of Jeunesses Musicales International Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra of the Macedonian Philharmonic, Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra, International Symphony Orchestra of Sarajevo and performed in Croatia, Germany, Austria, Italy, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Albania, Indonesia and others. He also collaborated with the Ansemble of Contemporary Music ALEA from Macedonia and Ensemble “Sorbo” from Croatia.
From 2003 and 2007, Kotevski held the position of principal cellist at Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra, and from 2007 to 2001 he was principal cellist at the Macedonian Opera and Ballet. In the period between 2011 and 2014, he held the position of Artistic Director of the Macedonian Opera.
